We renovated a 100-year-old traditional Japanese farmhouse ourselves.
We live in a town called ‘Yamadarake’ with a forest coverage rate of 96%.
We make a living through river rafting and enjoy the blessings of the mountains such as deer, mushrooms, and wild herbs.
We live our lives and work while directly receiving the blessings of nature.

The base of Honryudo is located in Hayakawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture. A town surrounded by mountains with a forest coverage rate of 96%, it’s known as ‘Yamadarake.’ Just an hour’s drive from Mount Fuji or a two-hour drive from Tokyo, it’s a laid-back place with mountains, rivers, and warm-hearted people. In this town, we’ve painstakingly renovated a traditional farmhouse that’s over 100 years old to create our base! Here, you can change into your tour gear or relax in a hammock after the tour, enjoying a leisurely time.

Forests and rivers are losing their inhabitants rapidly. However, these creatures cannot ask for help. In place of the voiceless nature, we want to speak up.
It’s important to raise awareness about the crisis, but first, I want people to experience the joy of being in nature and the serenity of connecting with it. That’s why we built the kitchen house ‘Yamane-ya’ from scratch with such feelings! I would be delighted if after the tour, you could relax and spend some leisurely time here.
